UPDATE: Linden Police Investigates Overnight Shooting

A local resident is recovering after he was shot during the overnight hours in Linden.

 

According to authorities, at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Feb. 28th, police received reports of gunfire.  

Upon arrival, officers responded to the area of E. St. George Avenue and Bower Street where they located the victim, a 20-year-old Linden resident.

 

The victim was taken to Newark University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is currently in stable condition.  

The suspect, described only as a black male wearing all black, reportedly ran from the scene into Roselle.

 

“Violence like this has no place in our community,” said Police Chief David Hart.  “We can only realize safer streets in our neighborhoods when we collectively accept the responsibility to come together to protect our loved ones and neighbors.”
