A fire that ignited inside a commercial building in Linden sent a worker to the hospital for smoke inhalation
According to fire officials, Linden firefighters responded to 1233 West St. Georges Ave at approximately 10:15 a.m. for a report of a smoke condition inside a two-store commercial building.
Firefighters quickly contained the fire to the roof fire with assistance from Rahway and Elizabeth Fire Departments.
Evacuation of the building was conducted by rescue crews and assisted by Linden Police.
The fire caused minor damage to the building fire officials said.
The fire is under investigation but appears to be accidental at this time according to officials.
