A 43-year-old Jersey City man, who was near his vehicle, was struck and killed by a pickup truck this afternoon.
Police were called to the area of Kennedy Boulevard and 31st Street around 2:15 p.m., for a report of a person struck by a vehicle.
Upon arrival, officers found the 43-year-old victim, who they said appeared to have been getting into his car, had been struck by a truck, driven by a 47-year-old Bayonne man.
The victim, who's identity is being withheld pending notification to his next-of-kin, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the truck was transported to Bayonne Medical Center as a precaution.
No charges, or summonses have been issued at this time.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
