Authorities in Hudson County announced that on Thursday, July 25, the Honorable Angelo Servidio sentenced Tyquan Baisden to 17 years in New Jersey State Prison for the 2021 death of 27-year-old Diamond Davila of Jersey City.Officials stated that Baisden, 28, of Jersey City, pleaded guilty to Aggravated Manslaughter on May 2, 2024.
According to officials, Baisden’s sentence is subject to the No Early Release Act, and he is parole ineligible until 85 percent of his sentence is served.
Officials said on October 19, 2021, members of the Jersey City Police Department responded to a report of a deceased female at 131 Woodlawn Avenue in Jersey City.
Responding officers found a lifeless woman at that location, authorities say.
The woman, later identified as Davila, was pronounced dead at 3:08 p.m., officials say. Authorities say the Northern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office determined the cause of death to be Homicidal Violence and the manner of death to be Homicide.
