UPDATE: Irvington Township Man Found Shot Multiple Times in Maplewood

Maplewood Police officials are investigating a shooting incident that left a male seriously injured on Friday night. AdOn Friday at approximately 11:30 p.m., Maplewood Police Officers responded to Jacoby Street near Brown Street following a report of shots fired.

Upon arrival, officers found a 24-year-old male from Irvington lying in the street with gunshot wounds.

Officers, along with South Essex Fire Department EMS, rendered aid and transported the male to a local hospital.

He is currently in stable condition.AdThe Maplewood Police Detective Bureau is actively investigating the incident.

Residents in the area can expect an increased police presence.
