Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens II and East Orange Police Chief Phyllis Bindi announced today that the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force is investigating the fatal shooting of Carl Brown, 36, of Irvington, N.J.
Officials said on Friday, October 21, at 5:50 p.m., Brown was found on the 400 block of Park Avenue in East Orange suffering from gunshot wounds.
He was taken to University Hospital in Newark and pronounced dead at 6:18 p.m.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
