UPDATE: Investigation Continues into Person Found Dead Inside Vehicle During Nor'Easter that Crippled Traffic Flow in Newark

Newark

An unidentified person found dead inside a vehicle on a Newark street that was congested with traffic during a snowstorm on Thursday, November 15th has city residents seeking answers.

Requests for information sent to police officials for general information regarding the matter resulted in minimal results but there was no total denial by police officials that the incident occurred.

The unexpected nor'easter snowstorm that caused crippling traffic delays in Newark and throughout the entire region had administrators and teachers at the McKinley School checking the well being of their staff members on that Thursday when they departed the building and were reportedly met and told by law enforcement officials to return to the school for a short time as emergency responders tended to an unconscious and responsive person who was found inside a car.

Heavy traffic that converged on the area began to cause gridlocked conditions with traffic pouring from the exit ramp of I-280 near Branch Brook Park.

The unidentified person was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel according to information received from staff leaving the school building who were informed by police.

Reports said that the deceased died inside the vehicle after suffering a medical condition and waiting for emergency responders to get through traffic in the area but police have not released an official statement on what caused the victim's death.

Parents who were attempting to attend Newark district-wide scheduled parent teach conferences said they too were informed to find a different route to the school building because someone was found dead while operating a vehicle.

The identity of this person has not been released.
