New Jersey State Police officials have confirmed the death of a women who was pulled from a vehicle that crashed early morning on a NJ highway.
According to a statement released by police, the single car crash happened in the westbound lanes of I-80 at milepost 26.4 where police and EMS found the overturned vehicle on the side of the highway in the woods.
According to State Police, the vehicle was coming off of exit 26 when the driver somehow lost control and veered off the road and ending up striking a tree in the grassy portion of the highway.
Police say the unidentified woman -passenger of the BMW- was pronounced dead at the scene. While the driver suffered minor injuries.
The driver of the vehicle will face charges but police have not officially released the charges at this time.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
