TRENTON – The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police Department are investigating a homicide that occurred in the city late Wednesday evening.
According to a statement released by authorities, at approximately 11:35 p.m., Trenton police were dispatched to the Shell Grocery on Greenwood Avenue on a report of shots fired.
Units arriving at the scene located a black male victim unconscious and unresponsive inside the store.
Police identified the victim as Aveon Perry, 28, of Trenton, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
EMS transported Perry to Capital Health Regional Medical Center where doctors pronounced him dead a short time later.
The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made.
