Police in Newark have released the identity of the victim in a [**fatal shooting that occurred in Newark's South Ward**](https://www.rlsmedia.com/article/developing-fatal-shooting-reported-newarks-south-ward).
According to police, 15-year-old Shamere DeCruize was fatally shot on November 12.
Police reported that shortly after 6 p.m., officers responded to 19 Stratford Place on reports of shots fired.
When they arrived, police found the victim, who was later identified as DeCruize, suffering bullet wounds. He was pronounced dead a short time later.
The investigation is still active and ongoing and there have been no arrests made at this time.
