Essex County law enforcement is investigating a violent shooting that left at least three people wounded on a busy stretch of Bloomfield Avenue in Verona late Saturday night.
According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred around 11 p.m. near Lakeside Avenue.
Responding officers found multiple victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency medical teams from Verona, Montclair, and Cedar Grove were dispatched to the scene to provide aid.
Two of the victims were transported to University Hospital in Newark for treatment, while a third individual was taken to St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston by private vehicle.
Authorities have not yet released details on their conditions.
The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle and remains at large. Police have not disclosed a possible motive as they continue their active investigation.
