Authorities are investigating an incident that killed two men after a 10,000-pound generator fell at the construction site of the new Hanover firehouse.
The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed this afternoon that one person was killed and another person was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.
According to initial reports, authorities were called to 10 Troy Hills Road in Hanover Township, sometime around 11 a.m. for a report of a construction accident.
Based on preliminary reports, a strap holding a generator that was being lifted by a crane gave way, ultimately killing the men.
The first victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The second victim was transported to Morristown Medical Center with a collapsed lung, broken rib cage and leg injuries. He succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
This is still an active ongoing investigation at this time.
