Authorities in Passaic County are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred late Saturday afternoon in Paterson.
According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-in-Charge Patrick Murray, officers were dispatched to the area of 12th Avenue and East 24th Street at approximately 5:05 p.m. on March 22, 2025, following reports of gunfire.
Upon arrival, police located a 21-year-old man from Garfield, New Jersey, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
He was rushed to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
The identity of the victim has not yet been released, and no arrests have been made at this time. Investigators are continuing to piece together the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
