The family of a Linden girl found floating in a lake at Warrinaco Park in Roselle has completed funeral arrangements.

According to Linden’s Mayor Derek Armstead, the funeral for Jayanna Rochelle Francois, 14, will take place at the Holy Mountain Church located at 800 Roselle Street in Linden this
Saturday, August, 22nd from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Mayor Armstead said Francois will then be laid to rest at the Rosedale Cemetery on East Linden Avenue in Linden.
According to authorities, **[on the morning of August 10, 2020, Francois’ body was found at Warinanco Park’s](https://www.rlsmedia.com/article/developing-body-found-floating-pond-park-roselle)** lake just before 7 a.m.
Firefighters and emergency rescue crews arrived and recovered the remains Francois, but her death is not considered suspicious Mayor Armstead said.
”It is not being investigated as a suspicious death. She recently graduated from McManus Middle School and like many of your children, including my twin boys Ryan and Ashton, Jayanna was looking forward to beginning the new school year as a freshman at Linden High School,” Mayor Armstead said in a statement.
Union County Police Detectives and the Medical Examiners Office will handle the investigation.
Mayor Armstead said the family of Francois is struggling personally and financially with her death.
