A fast moving fire inside a North Brunswick warehouse had police and fire personnel working close to eight hours trying to place fire under control.
The fire according to officials started around 2 a.m. in the center of the warehouse, which is located on Livingston Avenue.
During a new conference Fire Chief Donald Salzmann said that one firefighter suffered a minor hand injury but added that no other injuries were reported.
The fire was placed under control at approximately 9 a.m.
Within the warehouse eight different companies, including rug and plastics manufacturers, operated in the building.
The heat from the fire also caused a fire at an apartment complex in the area which was quickly contained. At this time, it is unclear when residents will be able to re-enter their homes.
City officials are also warning residents that they may experience low water pressure throughout the day.
Police said the warehouse is fully involved, not the dealership.
The fire did not cause train delays but did forced the ramp from Route 1 north to Livingston Avenue to be closed.
Fire remains under investigation.
