UPDATE: Fatal Stabbing in Jersey City Under Investigation; Victim Identified

Police have released the identity of a 25-year-old Jersey City man stabbed and killed Monday.

According to police, on September 27th at approximately 9:30 a.m., Jersey City Police Officers responded to the area of Martin Luther King Drive and Orient Avenue in response to a report of an injured victim.

Upon arrival, officers found a male victim lying on the ground in front of 73 Orient Avenue with apparent stab wounds to his torso.

The victim, who was later identified as Richard Farmer, 25, of Jersey City, was transported to Jersey City Medical Center by Emergency Medical Services where he was pronounced dead shortly after 10 a.m.

During the investigation, officers located a second male victim in the vicinity who also

suffered from apparent stab wounds to his torso and upper extremities. He was also transported to JCMC by EMS where he received treatment for his injuries and was released.

There have been no arrests made in connection with the stabbing.

The Prosecutor’s Homicide Unit is actively investigating the case with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department.
