A male gunshot victim died after a shooter fired a hail of bullets at him this evening in a section of Newark.
Police said at approximately 6 p.m., officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area of South 15th Street and 15th Avenue.
When officers arrived, they found a severely injured male struck by several bullets.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are trying to determine if this shooting is connected with an incident where a gunshot victim entered Beth Israel Hospital struck by bullets earlier this evening.
The suspect fled the scene and is at large.
