Newark's Fire Division extinguished a two-alarm fire that was upgraded to three-alarms at 416 South 9th Street today.
According to a statement released by authorities, at approximately 6:14 a.m., firefighters responded to the first call, involving three homes, namely two 2-story homes and one 3-story.
Officials say the fire escalated into a three-alarm shortly after 6:30 a.m. and was considered under control at 6:46 a.m. with no reported injuries.
Eleven people have been displaced, including four children and seven adults.
The cause and origin of this fire will be investigated by the Newark Fire Division’s Arson Unit.
