The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office are looking into the motive behind two separate shootings that left seven victims injured in Paterson Thursday.
Passaic County authorities said in the first incident, at approximately 4:54 p.m., members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area of Park Avenue and Carroll Street on a report of shots fired.
Upon arrival, officials said police located a 32-year-old female Elizabeth resident and a 26-year-old-female Paterson resident who sustained non-fatal gunshot wounds.
Passaic County official said both victims were immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment.
Based on the initial investigation, the victims were in the area of Park Avenue and Carroll Street when shot.
The investigation into this shooting incident remains active and ongoing.
In the other incident, officials said a gunman occupying a vehicle drove through the 700 block of East 30th Steet and began firing multiple rounds at individuals on the street.
Police say bullets struck five victims leaving one of the injured in critical condition.
The suspects sped away from the scene and remained at large.
There were no arrests reported in either incident.
