A suspect who led officers on a brief pursuit this afternoon in Elizabeth, crashed into a school bus before he was taken into custody, city officials said.
Emergency responders rushed to the intersection of Madison and Fairmont Avenues sometime before 3:30 p.m. for a report of a crash that involve a school bus.

Upon arrival, it was determined that the driver of the vehicle, who reportedly caused the crash, was attempting to flee from police.
During the pursuit, the suspect allegedly dropped drugs and was also found to have a substantial amount of drugs in his possession.
The unidentified male was ultimately taken into custody.
A second vehicle, only described as a minivan, was occupied by three individuals. The driver of the minivan appeared to have suffered a sprained ankle and was evaluated while the other two occupants did not suffer any injuries, according to officials.
The third vehicle, a school bus, was occupied by seven children who were all transported to Trinitas Regional Medical Center as a precaution.
The incident remains under investigation at this time, city officials added.
