Police in Elizabeth are investigating a stabbing that left a man injured at a housing complex in Elizabeth on Monday morning.
According to a statement released by Elizabeth city Spokeswoman Kelly Martins, a 29-year-old Edison resident was dropped off near Mattano Park to visit his girlfriend in Mravlag Manor when he was approached by two unknown males in their 20's at around 9:40 a.m.
Spokeswoman Martins said one of the suspects wore a black sweatshirt, while the other had on a gray sweatshirt when they approached and began to assault the victim.
During the altercation, Martins said one of the men pulled a knife and began to stab the victim.
The victim was able to flee the area down Clarkson Avenue where he called the police for help.
EMS arrived at the scene and transported the victim to University Hospital in stable condition as a precautionary measure for a laceration to the head.
Spokeswoman Martins said there was no immediate indication of a robbery.
