Authorities in Middlesex County reported today that a fatal crash took place on Stelton Road and is under investigation.
Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and the Piscataway Police, today, at approximately 1:41 a.m., authorities responded to Stelton Road and Mindy Lane in Piscataway after reports of a serious motor vehicle crash.
According to officials, upon their arrival, officers located two vehicles that were involved in the crash, a Lexus that struck a utility pole and caught fire and a Ford Focus that was struck by the Lexus, which also caught fire.
The driver of the Ford Focus succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced at the scene, officials say.
Both the driver and passenger of the Lexus were transported to the hospital for treatment.
Authorities say further investigation led by Ptl. William Kloos of the Piscataway Police Department and Detective James Alleva of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office revealed that the Lexus was traveling on Stelton Road when it struck the passenger side of the Ford Focus that was making a left onto Mindy Lane.
This is an active and ongoing investigation.
