Update: Daytime Shooting in Elizabeth Leaves Linden Man Injured

A daytime shooting in Elizabeth over the weekend left a Linden injured, according to police.

Police responded to the ER section of Trinitas hospital Saturday at approximately 5 p.m. for a gunshot victim.

Upon arrival, officers met with the victim, a 29-year-old Linden resident, who stated that a young black male - brandishing a silver handgun - approached him in the area of Second and Bond streets.

A dispute ensued, and the suspect shot the victim once in the left thigh, and fled on foot.

The victim remains at Trinitas Hospital in stable condition.

The shooting is currently under investigation by detectives from the Elizabeth Police Department Night Detective Squad.
