UPDATE: Crash Leaves Motorcyclist Injured in Elizabeth

Police in Elizabeth are investigating an early Saturday morning crash that involved a motorcycle and a car leaving an Elizabeth man in critical condition.

According to a statement reeased by police, at approximately 3:04 a.m. police responded to reports of a crash that on North Broad and North Avenue.

Police say, upon officer's arrival, they learned that the 27-year-old driver of a 2013 Honda vehicle, driven by a 27-year-old Garfield resident collided with a Honda motorcycle driven by a 34-year-old Elizabeth resident on North Broad Street.

Police say EMS rushed the driver of the motorcycle to University Hospital complaining of pain/head injury.

According to authorities, Union County processed the scene, and due to the victim's head injuries, police were unable to speak to the motorcyclist.

The crash remains under investigation, and no summons were issued at this time.
