A child suffered minor injuries Monday afternoon in a hit-and-run crash in Elizabeth authorities said.
Police responded to the 200 block of Magnolia Avenue at approximately 3:33 p.m. for a report of a child hit by a car.
Upon arrival, the victim - a 3-year-old boy - was being treated by an engine company from the Elizabeth Fire Department for minor injuries sustained after being struck by a vehicle.
He was then transported to Trinitas Hospital for further treatment and observation.
The victim was with his parents, both of whom witnessed the event, along with bystanders, police added.
The suspect vehicle, was described as a blue four door 2000 Buick, which fled the scene after striking the child.
The vehicle however, was later located by patrol units abandoned at the intersection of Front Street and Fulton Street in Elizabeth.
The incident is currently under investigation.
