Linden police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred late Thursday night, claiming the life of a 19-year-old man from Brooklyn.The incident took place around 11:30 p.m. on October 3, 2024, when officers were called to Route 1 following reports of a collision involving a motorcycle.
Preliminary findings indicate that the motorcyclist, riding a 2022 BMW, was traveling south on I-278 when he collided with a 2012 Ford F150 pickup truck.
The truck was attempting a turnaround near the Phillips 66 Domestic Trades entrance to head north when the crash occurred.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, while no other injuries were reported in the incident.The cause of the crash is still under investigation, and police are asking anyone with information to contact the Linden Police Traffic Bureau at (908) 474-8505 as they continue to gather details.
