Bloomfield High School was placed on lockdown this morning after reports of an unauthorized juvenile individual in the vicinity, according to Lieutenant Daniel Niekrasz of the Bloomfield Police Department.
School staff notified authorities of the presence of the individual, prompting the lockdown as a precautionary measure.
Officers thoroughly searched the building, ensuring it was clear before lifting the lockdown.
Lieutenant Niekrasz confirmed that the individual had left the area, and no injuries were reported.
"All appropriate measures were taken to ensure the safety of the students," Niekrasz stated.
While the school has resumed normal activities, some parents are choosing to pick up their children early. Those parents are in the process of doing so.
The investigation is ongoing, and the Bloomfield Police Department continues to look into the matter to ensure the safety of the community.
