According to police, at approximately 1:04 am, the Toms River Police Department responded to the area of Rt. 35 South and 1st Street in Ortley Beach for a pedestrian struck.
Police say a 2006 Mazda 3, operated by Timothy Kellers, 33, was traveling Southbound on Route 35 when he struck a 23-year-old male bicyclist from Ubekistan.
EMS transported the cyclist to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for treatment of multiple traumatic injuries.
Police say Kellers exhibited no signs of impairment and also provided consent to search his phone and vehicle, both yielded negative results.
According to police, Keller also provided consent for a blood sample, which was facilitated at Community Medical Center.
