The East Brunswick Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Highway 18 early Thursday morning.
County officials reported that on July 25, at approximately 2:00 a.m., East Brunswick Police Officers responded to the intersection of Highway 18 North and South Woodland Avenue following reports of a motor vehicle crash involving an electric bicycle.
The bicyclist, 25-year-old Rohit Sharma, sustained critical injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle was uninjured and remained at the site of the crash.
Patrolman Patrick Lem of the East Brunswick Police Department Traffic Safety Section is leading the crash investigation.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and no further details have been released at this time.
