NJ State Police officials are investigating a crash that killed two people on a highway in Passaic County earlier today.
According to Sergeant Philip Curry, the crash occurred at 10:04 a.m. in the eastbound I-80 at exit 53 in Wayne.
Sergeant Curry said a preliminary investigation revealed that a Honda Odyssey was traveling eastbound on I-80, the Exit 53 ramp (milepost 53.6).
While on the ramp, Sergeant Curry said the Honda traveled off the left side of the ramp and impacted a light pole.
As a result of this crash, the driver, Mr. Robert Csapo, 46, of Lyndhurst and a male juvenile also from Lyndhurst sustained fatal injuries.
Sergeant Curry said two additional male juveniles sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital.
State Police closed Exit 53 for approximately 4 hours resulting in moderate traffic congestion.
The crash remains under investigation.
