Newark -- Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, and Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose announced today that the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force, which includes detectives from the Newark Police Department, is investigating the fatal shooting of Mr. Shaquan Hatcher-Turner, 30, of Newark.
Police say approximately 3:10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, Hatcher-Turner was shot on the 600 block of South 19th Street.
He was rushed to University Hospital and was pronounced dead at 3:35 pm.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
No arrests have been made.
