Authorities have release the identity of the 37-year-old man from the Colonia section of Woodbridge that was struck and killed as he attempted to cross road Thanksgiving Day.
According to police, officers responded to the intersection of East St. Georges and Wood avenues sometime around 1:30 a.m., after they received 911 calls that a person was struck by a vehicle at that location.
Upon arrival, police found the severely injured victim - later identified as Steven Sears - laying on the ground suffering life-threatening injuries.
EMS transported Sears to an area hospital where medical staff made the pronouncement a short time later.
The driver of the vehicle that struck Sears stopped and remained at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
