A Mount Arlington officer suffered injuries after being struck by a car in the city Tuesday night.
According to preliminary reports, on Dec. 11th at approximately 6:51 p.m., Sgt. James DiStasio of the Borough of Mount Arlington Police Department was struck by a motor vehicle in the area of 10 Howard Blvd.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that Sgt. DiStasio was involved in the routine investigation of an unrelated traffic incident at the time he was struck by the motor vehicle.
Officials say Sgt. DiStasio was transported to Morristown Medical Center with unspecified injuries.
No additional information will be released at this time, including the identity of any other persons involved and the extent of any injuries sustained by Sgt. DiStasio, as the investigation remains ongoing.
This matter is being investigated by the Mount Arlington Police Department, the Morris County Sheriff’s Office – Crime Scene Investigation Unit, and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office – Major Crimes Unit.
