The Jersey City man wanted in connection with the death of his girlfriend, Ms. Diamond Davila, 27, of Jersey City, was arrested on Thursday shortly before 6:30 a.m., by members of the United States Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Gang/Violent Crimes Unit.
Officials said Ms. Davila was killed in her Jersey City apartment in October. Police said on October 19, at approximately 2:30 p.m., members of the Jersey City Police Department responded to a report of a deceased female at 131 Woodlawn Avenue in Jersey City.
Officials say responding officers found a lifeless woman at that location.
The woman, later identified as Davila, was pronounced dead at 3:08 p.m.
The Northern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office determined the cause of death to be Homicidal Violence and the manner of death to be Homicide.
Tyquan Baisden, 25, was arrested on Summerfield Avenue in Asbury Park without incident.
He has been charged with Murder, a first-degree crime; Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (Cord), a fourth-degree crime; and Possession of a Weapon (Cord) for an Unlawful Purpose, a third-degree crime.
Baisden will be housed at the Hudson County Correctional Facility in Kearny pending his first appearance.
Prosecutor Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit with the assistance of the Jersey City Police Department for the investigation.
