An Asbury Park man has been arrested in connection with the homicide of a 57-year-old male at a senior citizen complex in the same town, announced Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.
According to officials, late last evening, Knowledge B. Allah, 54, of Asbury Park, was charged in connection with the death of Salah Ali, 57, also of Asbury Park. Police charged Allah with first degree Murder, third degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose and second degree Disturbing of Human Remains.
Police said Ali’s body was found deceased Wednesday morning inside the Dr. Robinson Towers, located at 1000 Third Avenue. Asbury Park police responded to a 911 call around 11:18 a.m. requesting first aid for a fall victim at the complex.
Police arrived to find the victim lying in a stairwell of the building.
According to officials, Allah is being lodged at the Monmouth County Jail and will have his first appearance this afternoon before Judge David F. Bauman.
The incident remains under investigation.
