Detectives are investigating the fatal stabbing of a 35-year-old man in Camden City Saturday night Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodrigue reported.
At approximately 10:57 p.m., Camden County Metro Police responded to the 200 block of Main Street after receiving a 911 call of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located Duron Williams, 35, suffering from a stab wound.
Officials said Williams of Camden City was transported to Cooper University Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased at 11:19 p.m.
Following an investigation by detectives of the Camden County Prosecutor's Office Homicide Unit and detectives of the Camden County Police Department, Eduardo Villanueva-Garcia, 35, of Camden City was charged with Murder and Possession of a Weapon in the fatal stabbing of Williams.
Camden County officials said, Villanueva-Garcia was taken into custody and is currently lodged at the Camden County Correctional Facility.
Officials said all persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
