Irvington Township Police are continuing their investigation into the motive behind a shooting that caused property damage on Stuyvesant Avenue Thursday evening.
Police responded to reports of shots fired near 512 Stuyvesant around 3 p.m.
Upon arrival, police found nearly a dozen shell casings and at least three unoccupied vehicles struck by bullets.
Officers patrolling the area found a vehicle with suspects wanted for the shooting. Police tried to get the driver to pull over, but a brief pursuit ended with several suspects bailing from the car near the brook on Liberty Street.
According to Irvington Police officials, a 17-year-old male resident was arrested for his involvement and firing the shots, but no one was struck.
Police charged the juvenile with possession of a handgun, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and aggravated assault.
Irvington Police said two other juveniles were detained and allegedly involved in this incident, however, their roles have not been determined at this time.
The investigation is presently ongoing.
