Newark police officials are calling on the public for assistance in identifying four suspects involved in an armed robbery at a Pizza Hut in the South Ward. The incident occurred on Wednesday, October 4, at around 10:23 p.m. at the restaurant located in the 400 block of Lyons Avenue.
According to Newark Police, the first suspect, described as a Black male, entered the Pizza Hut and demanded money from the register at gunpoint.
After the cashier fled the scene, the suspect proceeded to demand money from a second employee, who also managed to escape and lock himself in another part of the store.
The suspect then turned to the customers, demanding money from them.
In total, police said two suspects were seen fleeing the establishment on foot. At the same time, two additional individuals were observed nearby and are also sought for questioning in connection with the robbery.
Detailed descriptions of the suspects have been released:
Suspect #1 was seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue sweatpants, and white Air Force One sneakers.
Suspect #2 sported all-black clothing with black and white Nike Dunks.
Suspect #3 was in all-black attire, white and gray sneakers, and a blue surgical mask. Lastly, Suspect #4 wore a blue Nike sweatshirt, a black face mask, blue jeans, and dark-colored Jordan sneakers.

This plea is part of a concerted effort to bring those responsible for this brazen armed robbery to justice.
