Authorities in Teaneck are investigating the drowning of a child in a Teaneck pool on Sunday evening.
According to police 7-year-old girl drowned at a backyard pool in New Jersey.
Officers arrived at the house on Westervelt Place in Teaneck around 6:12 p.m. on Sunday and found the girl at the bottom of the pool.
Police said the owner of the home rented the pool out for parties and the child’s mother was not there at the time.
According to authorities, several officers performed CPR and the child was taken to Holy Name Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
