Officials in Essex County reported today that the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force is investigating the fatal stabbing of Mr. Oscar Escobar, 55, of Newark.
According to a statement released by Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Spokesman Robert Florida, on Thursday, June 29, at 10:24 a.m., police responded to a report of an unresponsive man inside an apartment on the 300 block of Mt. Prospect Avenue in Newark.
Officials said police found Escobar suffering from an apparent stab wound.
He was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:53 a.m.
The investigation is active and ongoing. No arrests have been made.
