Authorities in Ocean County announced that on September 2, the four-year-old child who suffered an accidental submersion in a swimming pool in South Seaside Park on August 30 passed away at Jersey Shore University Medical Center.
Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer stated that on August 30, at approximately 3:30 p.m., officers from the Berkeley Township Police Department, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in South Seaside Park.
Authorities say on a report that a four-year-old male had been removed from a swimming pool and found to be unresponsive.
Emergency life-saving techniques were performed on the child, and he was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, officials said.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with this child’s parents, family, and friends at this most difficult time,” Prosecutor Billhimer stated.
