Passaic County authorities are reporting that at approximately 7:23 p.m. on Thursday, members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area of North 1st Street and East Main Street on a report of shots fired.
Upon arrival members of the Paterson Police Department located evidence of a crime scene but were unable to locate a victim.
Police say, a short time later members of the Paterson Police Department located a 38-year-old male Paterson resident at the corner of Straight Street and Harrison Street who sustained a non-fatal gunshot wound.
The victim was immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment and is in critical condition police said. According to authorities, the victim was a passenger in a motor vehicle that was traveling through the area of North 1st Street and East Main Street when the shooting occurred.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
