The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office is leading the investigation into a deadly encounter that occurred in Irvington Thursday.
At approximately 7:33 p.m., residents in the 400 block of Union Avenue dialed 911 after hearing multiple sounds of gunfire in the area.
Fast-responding Irvington Township officers arrived at the scene and secured and then taped off the area after finding a severely wounded male who was shot multiple times at that location.
Friends and family told RLS Media that Mr. Ibn Vincent, 37, was pronounced dead shortly after police found him in the rear of one of the buildings.
It appeared that Vincent’s killers chased him a short distance before firing at him just in the alley.
Detectives Irvington Township and The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office are searching for the suspects responsible for this homicide.
No other injuries were reported.
