Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Troy Oswald announce that at approximately 4:03, a.m., members of the Paterson Police Department responded to the area of Summer Street and Broadway Paterson, NJ on a report of shots fired.
Authorities say upon arrival the police were unable to locate a victim or crime scene according to authorities.
A short time later, the police were notified that a Passaic County Sherriff’s Department Patrol car was following a private vehicle to Saint Joseph’s Medical Center in Paterson with a shooting victim inside.
The shooting victim who was identified as a 36-year-old male Woodland Park resident is being treated for a non-fatal gunshot wound according to police.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
