Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora announce that on Thursday at approximately 10:30 p.m., police officers responded to the area of Paterson Street and Hamilton Avenue in the City of Paterson in response to a report that a man had been shot at that location and driven away in a private vehicle.
Officers immediately responded to the scene and to St Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, where they located Mr. Andrew Piskunov, 33, from Paterson, who was receiving emergency medical care for a gunshot wound.
A short time later, Mr. Piskunav succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
This investigation is active and ongoing.
