According to police officials, on Wednesday, May 15, at approximately 2:48 p.m., the Hoboken Police Department
received a report of a body floating in the Hudson River near the Lackawanna Ferry Station in Hoboken.
Police say responding Hoboken police officers, along with NJ Transit police officers and the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit, found the lifeless body as reported.
The body of a male was removed from the water and secured by Hoboken Fire Department Rescue Team
members were operating a rescue boat.
Police identified the man as Mr. Jaime Kwebetchon, 27, from Maryland, who was reported missing by his family on May 9th
Police say Kwebetchon was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 3:55 p.m.
The exact cause and manner of death is pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
