Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, has announced that the Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force of the Essex County Prosecutor's Office is currently investigating the fatal shooting of 27-year-old Mr. Ty'Shad Campbell from Irvington.
The incident occurred early in the morning on January 14, at around 4:25 a.m., when Newark police were called to the scene of a shooting on the 300 block of Grove Street in Newark.Upon arrival, officers found Campbell outside at the location, critically wounded with multiple gunshot injuries.
He was quickly transported to University Hospital, where, unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at 4:42 a.m.
As of now, the investigation into this tragic event is active and ongoing.
The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office is diligently working to uncover the circumstances surrounding the shooting and to identify the perpetrator or perpetrators responsible.No arrests have been made thus far in connection with this case.
