Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose announced today that the Newark Police Department and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force are investigating the fatal shooting of Aliyah L. Williams, 25, of Newark.
According to authorities, Williams was shot at approximately 2:09 am today in the vicinity of Lindsley Avenue and Norwood Avenue.
She was transported to University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 7:07 am. authorities said.
At this time no suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made.
