UPDATE: 22-Year-Old Man Shot in Paterson

Passaic County authority reported that at approximately 6:12 p.m. Friday, Paterson Police responded to the area of Godwin Avenue and East 18th Street on a report of shots fired, but no victim was located.

According to Paterson Police, officers were advised that a 22-year-old male Paterson resident had arrived at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center seeking treatment for a non-fatal gunshot wound.

Based upon the initial investigation, police said  the victim was in the area of 18th Street and 12th Avenue when he was shot.

A potential crime scene was located in that area

. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
