Authorities are investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed a 15-year-old boy and left another teenager with life-threatening injuries in Jersey City.
According to police, officers responded to Leonard Street and Terrace Avenue for a report of a crash around 2:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, police determined two juveniles - one of which was a 15-year-old boy - were struck by a vehicle.
The 15-year-old boy and a second juvenile were rushed to Jersey City Medical Center. The 15-year-old died from his injuries while the second victim is being treated for severe injuries.
According to police, the vehicle involved fled the scene but officers located the heavily damaged car and two of the passengers approximately 200 yards from the scene. The driver fled on foot and remains at large.
The incident is under investigation.
